HIMSS inaugural blogging event to foster health IT thought-leadership
CHICAGO IL – August 7, 2012 – Today, HIMSS, the cause-based non-profit organization dedicated to improving healthcare through the best use of health IT, announced the launch of its inaugural blog carnival in support of the seventh annual National Health IT Week. For its #NHITWeek Blog Carnival, HIMSS invites members of the health IT blog community to pen new, original posts that share their opinions on the impact health IT will have in 2013. Blog posts from contributors will be selected and included on the HIMSS Blog on September 10, 2012 in line with the start of National Health IT Week.
For those interested in participating in the #NHITWeek Blog Carnival, please refer to the following information:
What: The #NHITWeek Blog Carnival - a collection of guest posts from a variety of health IT authors that center on one particular topic and are published on the same day
When: All original, blog posts must be published between August 7 and September 5, 2012
Who: Anyone with a passion for healthcare and health IT who has something to say about the future of health IT in the U.S.
Where: The HIMSS Blog
How: To submit for the #NHITWeek Blog Carnival, participants must:
• Author a blog post which answers the question – “How will health IT make a difference a year from now at the next National Health IT Week?”
• Include a link within the post that directs back to the blog carnival invitation
• Ensure posts are non-promotional in content and focus on larger health IT trends for 2013
• Send a link to the published post to HIMSS@shiftcomm.com by no later than September 5, 2012

The Seventh Annual National Health IT Week is a collaborative forum where public and private healthcare constituents will work in partnership to educate industry and policy stakeholders on the value of health IT to the U.S. healthcare system.
