JoAnn W. Klinedinst is Vice President, Professional Development, at HIMSS, the largest U.S. cause-based, not-for-profit healthcare association focused on the optimal use of information technology and management systems for the betterment of healthcare.
As a member of the HIMSS senior management team since 2006, Klinedinst brings more than 21 years of progressive experience in the health IT and management systems industry to the Society. She is responsible for all aspects of programming for professional development perspectives including annual conference, distance education, virtual conference, webinars, e-seminars, professional certification, career services, and HIMSS member awards.
Before this appointment, Ms. Klinedinst served as HIMSS content staff liaison to the enterprise and management engineering/process improvement steering committees, working with volunteers to deliver tools and resources to members.
Klinedinst holds a BS (cum laude) from West Chester University, West Chester, Penn.; she holds a graduate certificate in IS/IT from Villanova University; and she is currently a student and candidate for acceptance into the master’s program in adult education at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Penn.
She holds the CPHIMS designation, Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems; she is a certified project management professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute; and she is a Fellow of HIMSS.
